THE WALL
The ‘Wall’ is the first project of RestArt student group from the University of Novi Sad, on the subject of ‘art-space’ installation of a wall made exclusively from recycled material.
The Wall as a barrier doesn't represent just one of architecture’s elements that divides and defines one area, it also represents a psychological element of experiencing space as an ambient, that with its limits, helps in the creation of man's identity.
Experiencing the Wall as a space barrier was a topic and a challenge that architecture students had to resolve in order to complete the project, overcoming the constraints of differing opinions and that of the limited time available.
The task was to conceive and build a project of a wall that had three limits:
- Time - students had to plan, design and construct the project in one day - on the 10th of April 2009.
- Material - material that was destined for recycling purposes only.
- Space boundaries - dimensions of the project were pre-assigned with the following limits being imposed.
3m (length) x 2m (height) x 0.5m (width)
As previously stated, the project was carried out on 10th of April year 2009 on the Katolicka Porta Square in the City of Novi Sad Serbia, The project was an integral part of the seminar held IN Novi Sad from 9th to 14th April, 2009 under the name "Wall as a Space Phenomenon. The seminar included thought provoking lectures from various visiting Professors including, Prof. dr Radivoje Dinulović,architect Doc. Dr Darko Reba,architect, Prof. dr Milenko Stanković, architect, Doc. Jelena Matić, architect, Vladimir Ilić, architect, Ivana Knez, architect, Maja Vidaković – Lalić, architect

At the end of the day winners were declared in the Club-Gallery Izba - the winners were The Reflection Wall and Leave a Trace.
These projects were chosen by an independent jury because to the interactive effects these works had with the visitors to the Square, according to representative of the jury Ivana Knez.
All entrants into the event are to be thanked for their participation this event and in the high quality of the projects that were presented.
